Future savings compared to National Grid Basic Service cannot be guaranteed because future Basic Service prices change every six months for residential and commercial customers and every three months for industrial customers.
The additional RECs qualify for MA Class I designation and come only from solar, wind, anaerobic digestion and low impact hydro. RECs are the accepted legal instrument used to track renewable energy generation and to substantiate claims of renewable energy use. Learn more about the product details and renewable energy content here.
Please note: If you are a new medium, large or very large business customer, or have previously opted out of the Program, the supplier has the option to offer a market price. Market prices will be offered by the electricity supplier in writing, and you will not be enrolled in that price unless you affirmatively accept.
More Ways to Save
- Low-Income Discount: National Grid in Massachusetts has transitioned to a tiered low-income discount rate, replacing the previous flat 32% discount. Discounts now range from 32% to 71% based on income level and apply to the entire bill, including the cost of the Leicester CEA supply. Go to this page to enroll.
- Heat Pump Discount Rate: Starting November 1, 2025, most electricity customers with heat pumps will receive a discount through National Grid’s ‘heat pump’ delivery rate. This discount applies only to the delivery portion of electric bills, so customers in this community’s aggregation program remain eligible and can enjoy added savings.
- Automatic enrollment: Customers with Mass Save®-supported heat pumps installed on or after Jan 1, 2019 will be automatically enrolled starting Nov 1, 2025 — no action needed.
- Winter discount: Reduced delivery rates apply Nov 1 – Apr 30 each year.
- Estimated savings: About $540 per winter (Mass. DPU).
- No impact on supply: Only affects delivery charges; aggregation supply rates stay the same.
- Non-heat-pump customers: Remain on standard delivery rates.
- Enrollment notices: Sent by late Oct 2025.
- Manual enrollment: All other customers need to reach out to National Grid to enroll.
- Check National Grid’s heat pump rate page to find more information about signing up. For more information on heat pumps, check out this helpful FAQ from Mass Save.
